Delores Fortes

January 22, 1930 - June 22, 2024

Delores Annette Fortes, 94, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22 at Yale New Haven Hospital with family at her side. She was born on January 22, 1930 to the late Alonzo and Hazel Jones. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Joseph Fortes who predeceased her in March of 1998.

Delores lived in the New Haven area her whole life.  For the last twenty years or so, she lived just down the street from Grace and St John’s on Whitney Avenue, and originally chose the church because it was within walking distance but she stayed because she found a warm and welcoming community
