The Rev. Paul Hocking died on December 11, 2023 in New Haven.

Paul grew up in New Haven, served in the US Air Force, and, while serving in England, studied for ordination in the Church of England, where he went on to serve as a parish priest from 1989 to 2005.

​

Paul and his wife Mary, who survives him, joined Grace and St Peter's when they returned to Connecticut and settled in Hamden.  Paul filled in for the Rev. Amanda Gott during her maternity leave in 2013.  Among his many contributions to parish life, he is fondly remembered for his leadership of the monthly "Older and Wiser" luncheons.

A memorial service was held at Paul's home church in England on February 7, 2024.
